The Old Richbrau Brewery

Jackson Ward, Richmond, Virginia

The building has thirty-seven apartments. This building was complicated by its many additions; there were over twenty-five different levels comprising the five stories. Turning this to an advantage, twenty-nine of the thirty-seven apartments are unique.

Three apartments have private garages, two apartments have roof decks, and three are town units entering off Clay Street while others are loft units with mezzanines. Some of the units have vaulted brick ceilings, while others have exposed timbers. In addition, some of the old brewery equipment and devices have been used as artifacts throughout the project.

Parking is a major issue in the Jackson Ward neighborhood. To prevent from adding further pressure, and to add to the appeal of the building, there is interior parking for each of the residents.

Completed in July of 2005.
